【摘要】:Someacidscanbepresentinaviationturbinefuelsdueeithertotheacidtreatmentduringtherefiningprocessortonaturallyoccurringorganicacids.Significantacidcontaminationisnotlikelytobepresentbecauseofthemanychecktestsmadeduringthevariousstagesofrefining.However,traceamountsofacidcanbepresentandareundesirablebecauseoftheconsequenttendenciesofthefueltocorrodemetalsthatitcontactsortoimpairthewaterseparationcharacteristicsoftheaviationturbinefuel.Thistestmethodisdesignedtomeasurethelevelsofaciditythatcanbepresentinaviationturbinefuelandisnotsuitablefordeterminingsignificantacidcontamination.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheacidityinaviationturbinefuelintherangefrom0.000to0.100mgKOH/g.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
