【摘要】:Thespecificgravityordensityofasolidisapropertythatcanbemeasuredconvenientlytofollowphysicalchangesinasample,toindicatedegreeofuniformityamongdifferentsamplingunitsorspecimens,ortoindicatetheaveragedensityofalargeitem.Variationsindensityofaparticularplasticlumberorshapesspecimenmaybeduetochangesincrystallinity,lossofplasticizer/solventcontent,differencesindegreeoffoaming,ortoothercauses.Portionsofasamplemaydifferindensitybecauseofdifferenceincrystallinity,thermalhistory,porosity,andcomposition(typesorproportionsofresin,plasticizer,pigment,orfiller).Note28212;ReferenceismadetoTestMethodD1622.Densityisusefulforcalculatingstrengthtoweightandcosttoweightratios.Ifthecross-sectionalareaofthespecimenisrequiredforfuturetestingonaparticularsample,itmaybedeterminedfromaspecificgravitymeasurement,seeNote10(Eq5).1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthebulkdensityandspecificgravityofplasticlumberandshapesintheir"asmanufactured"form.Assuch,thisisatestmethodforevaluatingthepropertiesofplasticlumberorshapesasaproductandnotamaterialpropertytestmethod.1.2Thistestmethodissuitablefordeterminingthebulkspecificgravityorbulkdensitybyimmersionoftheentireitemorarepresentativecrosssectioninwater.Thistestmethodinvolvestheweighingofaonepiecespecimeninwater,usingasinkerwithplasticsthatarelighterthanwater.Thistestmethodissuitableforproductsthatarewetby,butotherwisenotaffectedbywaterforthedurationofthetest.1.3Plasticlumberandplasticshapesarecurrentlymadepredominatelyfromrecycledplastics.However,thistestmethodwouldalsobeapplicabletosimilarmanufacturedplasticproductsmadefromvirginresinswheretheproductisnon-homogeneousinthecross-section.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.
